Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida
In 1945, the City of Fort Lauderdale purchased 56 acres to create Lauderdale Memorial Park Cemetery. It opened two years later on State Road 84 in the southwest part of the City.
This park offers full burials, a cremation garden, mausoleums, cremation niches, and private family mausoleums.
The property has a veterans' garden with a monument to honor all veterans that served our country. Annually, the cemetery is host to one of the areas largest Memorial Day events honoring veterans. The cemetery was planned to also serve as a passive park for the surrounding community.
The park is open 365 days a year from dawn to dusk.
From Find a Grave: This cemetery holds the records for the four Fort Lauderdale Cemeteries: Evergreen Cemetery, Lauderdale Memorial Park, Sunset Memorial Gardens and Woodlawn Cemetery.
