Cemetery Crime Thursday - Australia

Vandals smash up 30 graves at Tweed Lawn Cemetery | The Reporter

More than a dozen Tweed Heads Lawn Cemetery burial sites have been vandalised, including a number of children's graves.

In a statement released this morning Tweed police said they were appalled to discover the low act, which resulted in damage to headstones, ornaments, plaques, vases, toys and other items.

Objects were thrown and smashed around the lawn of the Sunshine Ave cemetery and police say family members were devastated when they learnt of the vandalism.
